Scooters Wire Harness Instructions pt#500748

1. First mount the circuit breakers, starter relay and ignition switch where you want them on
your bike.
2.Now layout the wiring harness on a bench. Look over each wire and make sure they are
all in the approximate locations they should be when they go on your bike. Go through the
kit using section 3 as a reference.
3. Starting from the starter relay plug moving down I will go over each wire and where they go.
Follow along on your wiring harness.
30 amp main circuit breaker - The loose red wire that comes in the kit goes from the battery to
the copper side of the main breaker. The red wire labeled 12v battery-main breaker goes to the
silver terminal and feeds the IGN Switch.
15 amp lighting breaker - The red wire labeled 12 volt battery coming from the 87a terminal of
the starter relay goes to the copper side of the breaker.
The blue wire labeled running light that is attached to the orange wire labeled light breaker 12v
goes to the silver terminal on the circuit breaker.
The red wire labeled 12v headlight switch also goes to the silver terminal.
15 amp ignition breaker - The orange wire labeled IGN breaker-IGN SW goes to the copper
terminal. The red wire labeled 12v battery coming from the starter relay terminal 30 goes
to the silver terminal.
The white wire labeled coil-positive also goes on the silver side of the breaker. You can
also chose to put your power wire for your ignition module here or just run it to the
positive side of the coil.
Moving down the harness from the circuit breaker wires first you will find the rear
taillight bundle. The blue wire goes to your running light. The black wire is the ground for
your taillight. There are two red wires labeled the same (brake light) one goes to your
brake light switch on either terminal and the other goes to your brake light itself
(It doesn’t matter witch one goes where) The orange wire labeled light breaker 12volt goes
to the brake light switch on either terminal.
Next you will find the ground wires. They can be attached to the frame anywhere using a star
washer or you can run them directly to the negative side of the battery
(I prefer going to the battery).Next to the ground wires is a large green wire that is the starter
solenoid trigger wire it goes to the small terminal on the starter.
Now you will find the headlight switch bundle Yellow, white and red wires.
The red wire labeled 12v-headlight switch goes to the middle post and the yellow wire goes on
one of the outside post. The remaining white wire goes on the unused outside post.
Next is the red and pink module wires. They need to go to your ignition module.
If your using a DUAL FIRE set up connect the pink wire labeled coil-negative to the trigger wire
coming from your ignition module (on Crane & compu-fire it’s a black wire. Make sure you look in
the ignition modules instructions to be sure.)
The red wire will not be used for dual fire. You can remove it or use it for an auxiliary power source
by running it to the lighting circuit breaker. SINGLE FIRE connect the pink wire labeled coil-negative
to the front coil trigger (negative) wire coming from the ignition module. Connect the red wire
marked rear coil negative to the rear trigger (negative) wire coming from the ignition module.
Next are the coil wires - pink, white and red.
*DUAL FIRE The white wire labeled coil-positive goes to the positive side of the coil. The pink wire
goes
to the negative side of the coil. The red wire is not used.
*SINGLE FIRE The white wire labeled coil positive goes to the positive side of the coil. The pink
wire goes to the negative side of the front coil and the red wire goes to the negative side
of the rear coil.
Next you’ll find the ignition switch wires. The red wire labeled 12v battery goes to the switch
terminal labeled Bat. The orange wire labeled Breaker-IGN. switch goes to the terminal marked IGN.
The red wire labeled starter relay-IGN start goes to the start terminal.
Front brake light switch wires are next. Red and orange they both go to the front brake light switch
and it doesn’t matter witch terminal they go on.
Last is the headlight wires. Yellow goes to the low beam, White goes to high beam and black to
ground.
4. Take the harness and temporarily tie it to the frame. Find the wires that need to be moved and
move them to there proper place. Trim off the excess wires so it is easier to deal with. Make sure
you have everything where it needs to go and then install the heat shrink. If your not running the
wires in the frame don’t shrink the heat shrink just yet wait until your done then do it just incase
you forgot something. If you are running them in the frame shrink the heat shrink and then fish
the wires through the frame. After you get the wires through the frame install all of the connectors
and heat shrink the ends.
5. Leave the starter solenoid lead off of the starter and test the system with a battery. Look for
smoke and fire, If there is none and everything works hook up a test light and check to see if
the starter trigger wire (green) works when you turn the key to start. If it does then hook it
back up and go take it for a Ride!!!
